Day and the Night

09 2010

Dear readers,

I am devastated after having found out that a friend of mine had terminal cancer.

Cancer is an evil poison that has taken away too many dear ones. Hearing this sad news brings back the gloom of the insidious and unrelenting degradation of all that I have lost to this dreaded disease.

I am therefore taking a blog break as I need to focus my thoughts, gather whatever positive energy I can muster and radiate it towards my friend. I’d like to hope for a miracle, I’d like to see this disease beaten and defeated.

Sorry but the only song that springs to my mind right now is not a ukulele one.

    So sorry, Armelle.
I’ve been through the disease myself and lost
a parent to it. This sort of thing makes no sense at all and it will take a while to come to grips with it.

Ron : sorry to hear you have been through this odious disease yourself and that you have lost a parent to it. I hope you have fully recovered and that you are proof that it can be overcome.
There’s no understanding why some people have to go through this. It seems so unfair.

    Dear Armelle,

I know how you feel.I lost one of my very best friends in March because of lungcancer and I lost my mother through this too. I’ll always miss them.
Wishing you all the strength you need.

Martine : thanks so much for your sympathy. Sorry to hear about your loss too. It will take time to come to grips with the unfairness of it all… but I guess life has to go on.

Pierre : Je te remercie pour ton mot, cela me touche beaucoup. Il n’est jamais simple d’écrire dans ces situations et j’apprécie que tu l’aies fait.

    Arnelle,

I am sorry to hear the news. A situation like this is hard and not easy to understand. Just do one thing: be there for your friend. He/she needs you now!.We’ll pray for both of you and your Families.

Franco : thank you very much for your support.
Only a few days separated my finding out about the critical state of my friend and his passing. He is now at peace and not suffering anymore which is the only acceptable consolation I can find.
