I have been so busy trying to search for ukulele videos from far and away that I have completely neglected to check what was going on on the French ukulele scene. In order to amend myself, I declare this week a French ukulele week.
Firstly, let me invite you to Angoulême’s market where the Old Blind Mole Orkestra were filmed performing Pink Elephant. A very lively performance!
Next comes Roland Abadie, musician and comedian, performing a song from his latest album Le Cirque Bidon, a musical tale for children called Garrigue. Francis Ferrié is playing the percussion and David Lévy the ukulele.
I dedicate the next live performance to Alex (Flamby1er from the COULE), one of the world’s nicest ukulele players. Alex came for a weekend visit here and this marked the first time I ever played with another uker, a really brilliant experience !
The song, the theme for a popular French-Japanese cartoon called Les Mystérieuses Cités d’Or was among those we played together for my children. Here it is, performed by DoReMi Game & Cie.

tou-dou dou-dou dou… les cités d’Or ;)
BTW, found out that I could replace the E by an E7, much to my relief :)
