Ukulele songs from Korea, Singapore and China

09 2009

Today’s ukulele visits will take us to Korea and Singapore.

The first video has a rather catchy melody and is a cover of a song by Korean singer Harim, called Chocolate story. When listening to the song, it seems like the word “chocolate” sounds similar in Korean. The written word is another story : 초콜릿

Let’s remain in Korea where a bunch of friends are having a great laugh doing a ukulele cover of a song from a Korean comedy show. Enjoy the strumming !

Time to move to Singapore where Sarah and her friend do a ukulele cover of a Chinese song called qing fei de yi by Harlem Yu :

Let’s end this post with a bit of a language challenge : why not learn the names of some basic chords in Chinese ? Here is an opportunity with this child teaching ukulele in Chinese.
