Ukulele players in Romania ?

09 2010

Since Blue Moon ukuleles are made in Romania, I was quite hopeful when I started my search for Romanian ukulele videos.  I was therefore quite disappointed when I couldn’t find any ukulele song in Romanian. < Sigh >

Here are my findings so far, all songs in English, so don’t hesitate to drop me a mail using the contact form (top right of the page) if you know of any ukulele videos in Romanian.

I found a Romanian indie rock  band called Vive la Noiz performing Silver Lining with a ukulele but this seems to be their only video featuring a uke.

One name that did pop out from my searches is Stefana Fratila, originally from Sibiu, Romania. However she has moved to Canada at a very young age and browsing through all of her ukulele videos, I couldn’t find any in Romanian. <Re -Sigh> …

You can find more information on Stefana Fratila on Ukulele Perspective.

Here is a nice song by her, Vista Voyager.

Excellent find with Vive la Noiz. And I didn’t realise Stefana Fratila was Romanian. I’d lept to the conclusion she had an Italian background.

Al : I was really surprised that I couldn’t find any other ukulele songs by Vive la Noiz, this one being so good. Glad you’ve enjoyed!
