UK ukulele tour

28 2011

For those of you looking for an alternative to Christmas ukulele music, I’ve decided to put up a post focusing on ukulele videos from the United-Kingdom.

The first video is performed by my friend Lou aka Bossarocker who really has a rich and soulful voice. I wish she’d make more videos and I really hope that her EP will come out soon.

Lou performs Bob Dylan‘s In My Time Of Dying on her new cigar box ukulele.

Al covers Bert Jansh‘s version of Davey Graham‘s Angi.  I really love this piece, maybe I should set myself the challenge to try and play it in 2012.

Next is a song featuring ukes and harmonica, In the Long Boat by Moth Conspiracy.

Joseph Reuben sings I Was Once

Finally, Misty Miller and her brother Rufus perform Vampire.

Thanks very much for including me, Armelle.

Thanks for Joseph Reuben too. He’s new to me.

Al: you’re welcome, your rendition of Angi is really excellent. I have been meaning to feature it for ages but I had to wait for the right post for it.

Glad you discovered Joseph Reuben and thanks for correcting my spelling ;)

  3. Lou on the 2nd of January 2012 @ 01:54

Thanks, Armelle :) Didn’t expect my rough & ready offering to get picked up anywhere. But I do love my new cigar box uke. And there’ll be more to come this year. I intend to finish more things than I did in 2011!

  4. Armelle Europe on the 2nd of January 2012 @ 14:30

Lou: I really enjoyed your version of In My Time of Dying and I’ll be looking forward to your upcoming videos and songs.
I wish you all the best for your 2012 projects!
